Volumetric Weight in Air Freight Shipments

The determinant factor in the shipping costs is the space that the package you are sending takes on the plane rather than its actual weight. And this is the volumetric (or dimensional) weight of your shipment.

What is Volumetric Weight?

The volumetric weight of a shipment is the calculation method that considers the density of the package. When a package of low density is proportioned to its actual weight, it usually takes up more space. The volumetric or dimensional weight is calculated and compared to the actual weight of the package and the higher weight is determined; the higher value is used when calculating the shipping costs.
